Dejbjerglund Danish Gymnastics Team
In the summer of 2023, I was contacted by Sophie Gronmyr of South Meridian Elementary School about the Danish Gymnastics travel team, Dejbjerglund seeking local schools to visit and perform for along their tour of Western Canada and USA.
We met numerous times via Zoom meetings to discuss the concept and plan the details together of a single performance in October 2023 and this year we extended their visit to include two nights and one full day together.
Their most recent visit was extended to include billeting athletes for two nights and two performances including the elementary schools involvement in a practical workshop where students in grades 2-7 were invited to join the team on the floor for gymnastic activities and dance.
We would like to thank the host families in opening their homes to the athletes and all local schools for joining us in sharing in this special event which has created so many happy memories for the future Mariner students!
